The experience

The scents and flavors of Morocco and the Middle East, at your table.

We’re home chefs, and we cook the way we do for family: fresh Moroccan spices, produce and meat from Hudson Valley farms, and dishes slow-cooked in clay tagines. The food is simple but precise, made to whet your appetite and stir your curiosity. It’s relaxed and generous, like being a guest in our home, even when we’re in yours.

Our story

Two cultures, one love story, and one table, where everyone is welcome.

We’re Galila and Badr (Badi to friends). For years we traveled to Morocco for our leather brand, Motif 56, and ran a Brooklyn shop of artisanal Moroccan home goods. We also owned 56 Degrees, a boutique of small-batch wines and spirits, where Badi’s palate earned a loyal following. Now settled in Athens, New York, we bring it all to the table: Badi’s Moroccan family recipes, Galila’s Middle Eastern kitchen, and an invitation to slow down and eat well together.

Layli, لَيْلِي, means “my night” in Arabic.
